Making a Small MediFile© Ad

Though there are no extreme restrictions on how you may format your advertising for MediFile©, you may wish to use the following information to help guide the design of your ad(s). By using these guidelines to direct your advertising efforts, you will ensure that you are providing the right information, and that your ad complements those of other Value Added Resellers.

This document demonstrates how a smaller print ad may be designed. This means the ad is probably not a half- or full-page, but instead a smaller portion of a page.

Layout

Firstly, you should know what layout your ad will be, and the final dimensions. If it is a wide (landscape) format, you will have a different approach to the design than if it is a tall (portrait) layout. Determine the size of the ad, and whether you will be using only black and white, or perhaps one or more colours.

Where possible, the following recommendations are made:

• that the ad dimensions either be square (1:1), or in a ratio of 1:1.6 (the latter, rectangular shape being the preference)
• that a rectangular ad be portrait format, the secondary option being landscape
• that the ad use full colour to properly represent logos and colours

Content

Next, consider what information must appear in the ad:

• The MediFile© logo
• Your company logo
• Your contact information
• Your VAR certification logo
• A brief introduction to MediFile© (what it is)

Since you are working with less space in a smaller ad, it is best to keep the content to a bare minimum.

Design

A sample protrait ad follows:

In this ad, the VAR is Reseller Inc., a JPP (bronze). The copy reads: "Electronic Medical Records are a thing of the present. With the complete MediFile© solution, you can have a paperless office TODAY. Find out how MediFile© can take your clinic into the next age of practice management." The Reseller Inc. logo, address, and phone number would be your own contact information, while the URL (www.jonoke.com/medifile) would remain.

Note that the layout and content criteria are all met.

A sample landscape ad follows:

The 'catch phrase' ("Power filing.") is an eye-catching element of the ad. Some suggested catch phrases are as follows, depending on the flavour of ad you wish to create:

• A dose of efficiency.
• Break the paper cycle.
• Clinical success.
• Everything you need.
• Just your type.
• Leading the way.
• Power filing.
• Save shelves.

By integrating the advertisement elements and varying them from publication to publication (and over time), you will provide a consistent, recognizable presence in your chosen media.
