TITLE: How to Use Stickies

Description: This technote will describe how you can put a stickie onto the patient’s chart, how to clear a stickie, and the general use of stickies.
1) Go into the Patient’s Master Record - you must be in modify mode in order for MediFile to allow you to add a stickie to a chart. (This can also be done from the encoutner screen. The steps are the same as the ones here.)
2) In the bottom right hand corner of the patient’s chart, you will see 10 grey boxes. These are where the stickies will go. The two additional boxes are stickies that Jonoke programs in. They cannot be changed by Medifile Users. (one is for Reminders and the other one is for pregnancy - as shown below)
Adding a New Stickie:
1) Hold down the Option/Alt key on your keyboard and click on one of the grey boxes. The box you click on is where the stickie you select will show up. Doing this will bring up a selection of Stickies.
2) Select the stickie that you would like to appear on the patient’s chart by clicking once on the picture. You may only choose one stickie at a time. When you click on the picture that you want, it will show up under the Current Stickers list at the top of the screen.
3) Click on the green check mark to save this.
4) You will now see this stickie in the patient’s chart..
5) Now click on the Green check mark in the patient’s master record to save that stickie onto their chart.
Deleting a Stickie from a Chart:
1) When in the patient’s master record (or the encounter area), hold down the Option/Alt key and click on the stickie that you want to remove. you will be presented with the same screen as when you are adding a new stickie. you must also be in modify mode to be able to remove a stickie from a patient’s chart.
2) Click on the Clear button at the top of the screen. This will remove the stickie from the Current Stickers list.
3) Click on the Green check mark to save your changes.
4) You will notice that the stickie you removed is no longer showing on te patient’s chart.
5) Click on the green check mark to save the patient’s master record.
What Stickies Will Show You:
1) When you are in the patient’s chart and you have clicked on a stickie, a screen will come up displaying specific results.:

Peds Vitals:
Blood Pressure (Hypertension stickie):
Refer to the Technote on Setting up Stickies for instructions on how to set up these stickies to bring in this information and display it on your screen.
The buttons at the top of some of the screens when you click on a stickie are explained below:
Copy - Copy these highlighted records to be pasted into encounter notes, etc.
Print - this will print out a listing of all the records that are highlighted
View - This will allow you to see more information about the result that is displated (additional comments, etc.)
Add - This will allow you to add a record to this table.
Delete - This will allow you to delete a record in this table (This button will only appear if you have access to perform this action)
