Setting up Synchronize

1. To begin the set up process you will have to call our computer in Edmonton. You can use the ARA connect document to make the connection to our modem. By double clicking on the ARA document in your Billing ƒ folder it will launch ARA and dial the modem to make the connection. Once the connection is made successfully go to the next step

2. Go under your Chooser in the apple menu and click on Apple Share. You should see Shuttle as one of the available hard drives. Click on it and click OK. You will need to enter your Name as _____________ and your password as _________. This will place a Shuttle icon on your computer desktop below the Hard Disk icon.

3. Once the Shuttle is on your desktop, you need to find your syncronize application in Billing ƒ folder. Double click on it to launch it. You will open up an untitled document.

4. Deselect any of the check boxes that appear in this untitled document.

5. Click on the icon of Folder A. Then the Choose a Folder dialog will come up. In the Directory Popup make sure you have your Sync folder in your Billing ƒ folder on your hard drive as the top folder. Then click on the Choose “Sync” button. In your untitled document you will see the “Sync on _______________” replace Folder A. (See Diagram 4)

6. Click on the icon of Folder B. Then the Choose a Folder dialog will come up. In the Directory Popup make sure you have the Sync folder in the ____________________ folder on the Shuttle hard drive on your desktop selected. Then click on the Choose “Sync” button. In your untitled document you will see the “Sync on Shuttle HD” replace Folder B. (See Diagram 5)

7. Under the Options menu, select Auto-Connect item. Put an X in the Automatically attach “Shuttle” box and in the Automatically connect via Apple Remote Access box. Put in your password as ____________ and click the OK button.

8. Go under the Options menu and select Completion Options. Select the checkboxes When copying is complete: & Unmount “Shuttle” when complete, & Disconnect Apple Talk Remote Access. Click the OK button.

9. Go under the File menu and select the Save As… menu item. This will allow you to save your untitled syncronize document as “Connect to Jonoke” by typing this in. Be sure that you are saving it on your hard drive and not on the shuttle HD. Use the directory to get back into your hard drive.

10. Once you have saved your Syncronize document Click on the Sync button. Your computer will begin to syncronize the folders on Shuttle and your hard drive now.

This should set up your syncronize to go automatically from now on. If it does not please give me a call.
