Update User & Passwords

Description

In version 2.6 of MediFile if you had the double password system turned on you would need to do a lot of work to get the users updated. In version 3 the work load is much lower. This tech note describes this procedure. This tech note assumes you have done a ‘Save Groups’ already. If not ensure to have the previous version of MediFile loaded up. Follow these instructions, except issue a ‘Save Groups’ menu item.

1. Sign into the New MediFile version with the Admin name and password.

2. File --> Administartion --> Page 3

3. Select Password in the Password popup.



This will load up the default users that come with MediFile from Jonoke.

4. From the Password Menu select Load Groups



5. Find the User file that you previously saved from the previous version of MediFile.



Click on the Open button. This will overwrite the user list and passwords.
The file you are looking for is the one you should have created just before putting up the new version. You create this file by going into this same area and then selecting Save Groups.

6. Find all users that should be in the Admin Group. Drag them into the Admin group. The rest of the groups are not necessary.



This will then show this user in the Admin Group.



You are done!

Close the Password editor window. Remember to sign off as Admin.
