Description

There are typically 4 acceptable scenarios for locum submissions, as outlined in Chapter 5 of the Claims Submission Handbook from AHC.

For our example, we will be using
Dr. Jones as the locum (Uli is 123456789 and BA is 7777333) in your clinic, and
Dr. Smith as the regular doctor in your clinic ( Uli is 987654321 and BA is 4444666)

Scenario 1

The locum wishes to be paid directly by AHC and he is using his own submitter. The locum must
enter his own BA in the BA Field, and
leave the locum BA field blank

In the Area Accounts file for locum account Dr. Jones, it looks like the following. He must also use his own submitter (not Jonoke's)

Scenario 2

The locum wishes to be paid directly by AHC and he is using the submitter of (your clinic) the other physician. The locum must
enter his own BA in the BA field, and
enter the BA of (your doctor) the other physician in the locum BA field

Scenario 3

Payment for the loca claims is to be made to the other physician (your doctor) and locum’s own submitter is used. The locum must
enter the BA of (your Doctor) the other physician in the BA Field,
enter his own BA in the locum BA Field, and
he must also use his own submitter (not Jonoke's)

Scenario 4

Payment for the locum’s claims is to be made to the other physician (your doctors) and the submitter of the other physician is used (your doctor who uses Jonoke). The locum must
enter the BA of the other physician in the BA Field, and
leave the locum BA field Blank
