Security is becoming
a hotter topic with the spread of computer systems
in all industries. There is federal legistation,
and in some provinces further legistation that is
specific to the health field. As the 'custodian'
of a computer system storing personal information
you are legally responsible for the information contained
in the system. |

a good foundation for your security policies.
In Alberta and Ontario 'role' based security is required.
This is a good start, but we know that role based
security is only the start. The security features
of JonokeMed™ are flexible and powerful. The system administrator
can assign
various levels of access to each user. Those access
levels follow the user around no matter which workstation
they
are using, including remote access workstations
where applicable.
The security in JonokeMed™ can be set to various
levels of granularity depending on your needs,
patients,
and users.
Using role security is great for managing overall
system access. It does not provide for individual
user or patient
security needs. This is where JonokeMed™ excels.
Use the role security to set up the overall rules,
and
then as
needed modify this with specific controls. JonokeMed™ lets you be in control of who sees, adds, or
modifies any
data.
Have security is no good if you cannot audit
your system to see that it is working. JonokeMed™ audits
every action
in JonokeMed™. As a system administrator
you can see when, where, how, and who added,
modified,
or deleted
information.
There is a complete audit trail of every record
that every person viewed in the system.
JonokeMed™ does more though, it also alarms you
of potential threats. JonokeMed™ sends
the system administrator
messages
if there is suspicious activity on the system.
