Prevention

The Prevention resource contains a series of preventative tests/strategies for various age ranges and genders. Regular preventative tests based upon age and gender can be a reliable way of detecting specific medical problems – often in their early stages, when treatment is more effective.

The Prevention screen allows you to search for a condition, and presents matching records for you to choose from. The matching records typically are set up to include the age range and/or sex for which each record is designed. You can select the appropriate item, and immediately are shown the prevention information.

Additional prevention topics can be added at your discretion. Existing topics include immunization, vision care, hearing, and cholesterol. For each topic, several records can be created; doing this will ensure coverage for each relevant gender and/or age range.

The prevention information can very quickly be printed out for the patient, or copied for pasting into your encounter notes.
