Store Documents Electronically with the ImageButler™
A JonokeMed™ clinic may be paperless, however most other clinics, lawyers and insurance companies are not. You receive many pieces of paper each day that need to be added to patient records. The ImageButler provides your clinic with an easy way to manage documents for electronic storage. It handles typed letters, photographs, sketches, hand-written notes, EKG printouts, and anything else that arrives as hard copy. Documents are imaged accurately and quickly, and stored in your database. Images attached to patient records can be quickly recalled later to view on-screen. The ImageButler takes filing to a new level, keeping even the oldest document a few mouse clicks away.

Image Quality
The quality of the scanned document image is pristine. Photos, text, script, forms and more, are accurately rendered on-screen. As an electronic image file, it can be enlarged for even greater legibility when viewed in JonokeMed™. Sometimes, your only remaining challenge will be reading poor handwriting!

Don't Struggle with OCR
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is imperfect. It is sometimes used when scanning documents, to convert imaged text back into actual computer characters. This has always been a challenge for OCR software developers; there are common stumbling blocks, such as misinterpreting a '3' as an '8'. Since there is no room for error when working with medical records, the ImageButler allows you to work with 'snapshot' images of documents. The images are always accurate representations of the originals, and retain all information and formatting. Use the ImageButler to further enhance your JonokeMed™.

Unattended Scanning
Scan in batches using a high-speed scanner with an automatic document feeder (ADF). Set up a workstation as your scanning terminal, load a stack of documents on the ADF, and run the scanner. You can let it work through the documents all day and all night, as needed. This saves you the time and staff otherwise required for this step. The imaged documents can then be processed to attach them to patient records in your JonokeMed™ database. You can even set up your scanning station to store new images on the network while staff at another workstation attach the records accordingly.

Search Engine
A paper document in a chart cannot be found nearly as efficiently as with the ImageButler and JonokeMed™. With Jonoke's sophisticated search engine, you can search for a document based on several attributes. Imagine being able to search for all consult letters from a specific doctor, for all patients that have a specific diagnosis, receiving a specific drug, from the past six months. This is possible with the ImageButler.

Speed
An image can be retrieved at a workstation in under a second. This is far faster than locating a document as part of a paper chart. Even with a standard microcomputer on a network of over 100 workstations, there is minimal waiting time. Using Jonoke's various Image Server configurations, the performance and capacity can be increased to need virtually any need.

Compression
You can select the level of compression for images. This refers to the method by which software reduces an image's file size, sometimes trading the visual image quality in order to conserve disk space. By compressing images using 'lossless' (highest original quality) compression, the storage space for these images is reduced while preserving the image clarity.

System-Wide
Documents can be scanned in from multiple scanning stations around the clinic/sites, or scanned in by a high-speed scanner at a central location. The method you choose is determined by what works best for your clinic. Once the documents have been scanned in, anyone with the proper security clearance can connect the documents to the appropriate patient and physician. Jonoke developed its own technology to provide this feature across the network.

Cross-Platform
Just as JonokeMed™ works on both Mac OS and Windows computers, the ImageButler is cross-platform. Jonoke used its expertise with platform-independent software development to ensure the ImageButler is usable on either of these two operating systems.
