The CommsButler™ provides instant access to Alberta’s EHR (Electronic Health Record) system. You can access all of the patient information you need – local or provincial – right from within JonokeMed™! And when that data changes, why re-type all of your patient’s data into a web browser-based interface? The CommsButler™ works hard to make sure that your local patient data and the data on file at a provincial level are always in synch.
Want to know what prescriptions or allergies were uncovered by other doctors since a patient’s last visit? No need to jump between two systems. Synchronize your patient’s record with the data stored in EHR with a single click. Then view all of the information in one place.

Want to Update the Patient’s EHR Record with a New Prescription?
Simply enter the new prescription into JonokeMed™ like you normally do. When you save the new prescription, the information is automatically uploaded to EHR for you! Automatic Import of Reports

Email Letters to Other JonokeMed™ Users
The Comms Butler allows you to send letters to other clinics that use JonokeMed™. The letters are sent via encrypted email attachments in your choice of 4D Write or text format. There is no personal information in the email - all sensitive information is encrypted in an attachment that only the recipient can read.

Send letters to Capital Health's EHR system
The Comms Butler interface to Edmonton’s Capital Health EHR system allows you to send letters from JonokeMed™ to this external system. The information is transmitted to Capital Health via a secure, encrypted VPN (Virtual Private Network).

Import lab results - Automatically!
The importing of lab results is included in the base cost of JonokeMed™. However, if you don’t have the Comms Butler, the process can get somewhat tedious since you’ve got to locate/download the lab result files yourself and then manually import the files into JonokeMed™.

Without the CommsButler™, your workflow probably looks something like this:
1. Check to see: are there any new external files?
2. If there are, download the external files to a local computer.
3. Convert the encrypted information into plain text.
4. Upload the new files into JonokeMed™ so that all users can view them.

The CommsButler™ automatically searches for new lab results and - when it finds them - automatically downloads and imports the files into JonokeMed™.

What are the hardware requirements?
For small clinics, the CommsButler™ can run on your existing Butler computer.
