The Exam Room
Electronic Encounter Notes
Each time a patient comes to see you, Freedom helps you create a complete record of the encounter and instantly adds the information to the patient's record. Often using point-and-click annotation, the Encounter screen brings together all the related areas of Freedom that you may need during an examination. Type in your encounter notes, and/or paste in details from information you add to the patient record.
Clinical Assitants
This straightforward set of tools is designed to guide you through any of an assortment of clinical evaluations. Some involve basic yes-or-no questions, while others perform calculations based on values you enter (such as the Body Mass Index assistant). For example, the CAGE Questionnaire, for screening possible alcoholism, presents the CAGE series of evaluative questions.
Prescriptions
Freedom gives you a very straightforward system for creating, storing and issuing scripts. Freedom stores a compendium of drug information in the form of a drug database. Each drug record stores information like drug name, any number of brand names, default script (such as quantity and dosage), information about interactions/side effects and more. As this information is added to and honed, you will be able to create prescriptions in less and less time. Freedom lets you print out a prescription(s) with a single click.
As you create prescriptions, this information instantly becomes part of the patient's record. This means more than simply a history of what medication they have taken:
View current medications — Gives immediate consideration to drug interaction.
Renew active prescriptions — Quickly issues refills for ongoing medications; activate or de-activate prescriptions with a single click.
Re-prescribe past scripts — Bases a new prescription on one from the patient's history, with any necessary modifications
Resources
Freedom makes day-to-day patient care easier with available educational resources, which are valuable to both you and your patients. From anatomical diagrams to evaluative tests, through prevention and treatment information, the understated Resources menu in Freedom is like a medical library right on your computer screen.
